10 Best Kitchen Tools for Thanksgiving Dinner!

  1. Turkey Baking Dish

This is something I love to use when ever I have a big piece of meat that I have to cook. This one fits up to a 20 pound turkey. You can find some pans that are bigger but this one works for me every time. I actually thought I lost mine once and was so bummed but I found it thankfully. This pan will last for a long time, you should never have to buy another one again!

2. Meat Thermometer

Meat Thermometers are a great tool to have on hand. Especially if you don’t buy a turkey with the little red thermometer already in the turkey. I have done that and I wish I had one of these and went and got one right away. I use it all the time with other meats that I cook, this is not a waste of money. It is good for when I’m cooking small roasted chicken, or chicken breast. Its nice to have one so you don’t over cook any meat too. This one is great, you poke it in the meat and it will tell the temperature right away not like the old school metal ones, I do have one and these work so much better and faster.

3. Baster

The Turkey baster is a great tool. I recommend this one or any that come with the cleaning brush. I have thrown out basters over time because I can’t clean in those hard to reach areas. Basters are great to use on turkey, ham, and roasted chickens you will use it more than once if you host a lot of holiday parties. Nice to tool to have.

4. Electric Knife

The electric knife is definitely a tool that makes cutting any meats go so fast and efficiently. I have tried without one and it takes so long to cut any turkey or ham. This tool is always a keeper in my house. I’ve borrowed it to people in a pinch and they were so grateful. Always have an electric knife it will save time on those dinners that you spent all day cooking, no need to wait any longer to sit down and enjoy dinner with the family.

5. Electric Hand Mixer

Ok, the electric hand mixer is something to own. Not only for Thanksgiving but for any dinner that needs mashed potatoes. Makes them so smooth and whipped up in no time. You can use the mixer for cookie dough or brownies its use is endless. But works so well for those creamy mashed potatoes on the holidays.

6.Gravy Bowl

Now, This is something you don’t necessarily need, but it’s wonderful to have for large groups. I like that it has a little plate underneath so gravy does not get everywhere. It can fit a good amount in it and it’s small enough to fit around all the other dishes. It can be something that gets passed around the table for easy use.

7. Serving Platter

Now, serving dishes are a must have! You are not going to cook all day and not have a spot for all the delicious cooked meats that you just made. They look so nice. Its great to have the different sizes too, because you can use them for other foods like appetizers, baked goods, and fruit.

8. Whisk

Whisks are awesome! Just had to say that. I use mine all the time. Whisks are great for when you have to make gravy for those tasty mashed potatoes that you made. You can’t have turkey or mashed potatoes without the gravy. This is great for getting any clumps outs and blending everything together. Great tool to have for alot of cooking dishes. I like the metal ones because they just work better than the plastic ones.

9. Baking Dishes

Baking dishes are a must have. You need something to cook all those delicious sides to go with your turkey and ham dinner. Glass dishes are great, you can prep them in the dish and put straight into the oven. It’s always nice to have different sizes too since you don’t always need a huge pan of green beans. Having lids are always good to have too, so when your done you can just put the lid on and right to the fridge after a long day of cooking.

10. Mandoline

If I am asked to bring a dish I have to bring my augratin potatoes. Oh my goodness they are delicious. So having said that, the Mandoline makes cutting up the potatoes so quick. The mandoline is super sharp so be careful, but it will cut those potatoes into any thickness for your dish and it will be done in no time. This is also good for cutting up vegetables. Such a neat and handy tool to have if your an augratin potatoes lover like me and my family are.

I hope that some or all of these Tools have made your life a little easier when it comes to cooking your favorite dishes. These tools are all my go to when I’m cooking for the holidays. Sometimes I am the host and sometimes I am just bringing a side dish. I use a lot of these tools on a daily basis when I’m making dinner too. Have a great Holiday Everyone!

Hi there! I've always had a passion for food. Ever since I was little. I was never a picky eater, but when I had kids I had to start altering the foods we ate. Being a mother of 3 has put me to the test. I've always enjoyed to cook. As you all know kids change everything. I started cooking all the time, trying different recipes and making them from scratch. My kids love my food and like to help out, thats all I can ask for. So now here I am trying to spread the love and passion with you.
