Baked Ziti with mini meatballs!!

I have so many tomatoes growing in the garden. So I’ve been making dinners with fresh marinara. I love fresh sauce. It goes so well with the ziti noodles and meatballs.

1 box Ziti noodles

2 jars of spaghetti sauce/ or fresh marinara

1 pound ground beef

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon oregano

1/4 cup bread crumbs

1/4 cup fresh shredded parmesan

1 teaspoon worceshire sauce

1 teaspoon fresh basil or 1/2 teaspoon dry

1 teaspoon fresh parsley or 1/2 teaspoon dry

1 bag shredded mozzarella

  1. If making fresh marinara, start that now. Then Start a pot of boiling water.
  2. Mix the ground beef, salt, pepper, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, all the herbs, and worceshire. Don’t over mix, start to make mini meatballs. You can either cook them in the oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Or pan fry in Sautee pan rotating until browned on all sides.
  3. When the water is boiling salt it and cook the noodles until al dente. Drain and put into the baking dish.
  4. Once the sauce is ready put the meatballs into the sauce and cook 20 minutes( if you have time). Then mix the sauce with the noodles.
  5. Set the oven to 375 degrees. Put the noodles with the sauce and meatballs into a baking dish. Mix, then add the mozzarella cheese on top and bake 30-45 minutes. Until heated through and golden on top. Enjoy !

**** If using homemade sauce probably double the recipe

*** you can just use ground beef if you don’t have time for meatballs

**or use your favorite jarred sauce

Hi there! I've always had a passion for food. Ever since I was little. I was never a picky eater, but when I had kids I had to start altering the foods we ate. Being a mother of 3 has put me to the test. I've always enjoyed to cook. As you all know kids change everything. I started cooking all the time, trying different recipes and making them from scratch. My kids love my food and like to help out, thats all I can ask for. So now here I am trying to spread the love and passion with you.
