This is a great weeknight dinner. Comes together so quickly and delicious. Especially on those busy nights. I always keep some type of beef in the freezer so I can make this dish. It is super easy and quick.
Ingredients:
1 pound steak ( flank, sirloin, top round) sliced thin
2 cups broccoli
2 cups White rice cooked
Sauce:
7 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
** 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
- Put the steak in the freezer for 30 minutes. Cut the steak into thin slices. Cut against the grain. Set aside.
- Cook your rice so it’s ready when everything is done.
- In a big saucepan add 3 tablespoons of water and turn to medium heat. Steam your broccoli in the water with a lid for about 10-15 minutes depending on how soft you like your broccoli. Set aside in a bowl or plate and keep warm. Dump any water out if there is any leftover.
- While broccoli and rice are cooking mix the sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
- In the same pan add a little oil. In batches cook the steak on medium heat just until done. When done pour the sauce into the pan with the steak and cook until it starts to thicken 5-10 minutes. Add the broccoli, mix it, and serve over the rice. Enjoy!
Tools that might make cooking easier
Cutting boards– Awesome cutting boards. I love to use these. I like to have one for my meat, vegetables and fruits. It is so perfect that these have different sizes so I can use them for all my different recipes.
Wooden Spoons– You always need a good set of wooden spoons. I always have my wooden spoon in my hand when cooking. Great to use on any pan, and easy to clean.
