Steak, steak, and more steak! You seriously can not go wrong with these. I love steak, but sometimes you need to switch it up a bit. You can go easy on the cajun seasoning, for those little ones or just have a ball. My daughter loves spice, but my son thinks everything is spicy. So I use about half of the prepared seasoning. You can adjust to your liking.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds of steak ( sirloin, NY, filet, ribeye etc)
Seasoning:
1 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon of ground thyme or 1/2 teaspoon of dry thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon cayenne ( you can add more but it will be spicy)
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground beef bouillon (optional)
Sauce:
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves minced garlic
- In a small bowl mix all of your seasoning ingredients together.
- Cut up the steak into 1 inch cubes. First cut against the grain then cut into the cubes, if you have a cut of meat that is fatty or not of the best quality like sirloin it will still come out tender, just cut across the grain.
- Mix the seasoning with the meat and set aside. In a cast iron or skillet heat up about 1-2 tablespoons of oil( vegetable, canola etc) on medium high heat. Cook the steak for about 2-3 minutes turning to get all sides. Cook in batches and Set aside the steak when done.
- If your pan seemed to burn some of the seasoning that has fallen off wipe/scoop out your pan just enough to get the burnt pieces out( it will happen if your heat is too high so just be careful.)
- Heat up the butter in the skillet on medium heat, and then cook the garlic for 30 seconds. Add your steak back in and mix.Just enough to heat it back up. Enjoy! Serve immediately.
