The Best Creamy Italian Sausage Pasta!

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 pound ground Italian Sausage (mild)

1 small diced onion

3 minced garlic cloves

1 can diced tomatoes with basil & olive oil

1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1 1/2 cups spinach packed

3/4 cup shredded fresh parmesan

1 1/2 cups cream

1 box mostaccoli

reserve 1 cup pasta water

  1. In a medium pan add water and bring to a boil. Cook pasta till al dente. Reserve 1 cup of water, and drain.
  2. While pasta is cooking, in a large saute pan or if you have a (Large cast iron skillet) add oil and cook the Italian sausage. Breaking it up into small pieces. While sausage is cooking add in onion and cook until translucent.
  3. When sausage and onion are cooked add garlic and saute another 30 seconds. Add in diced tomatoes, and red pepper. Stir in cream and 1/2 a cup of reserved water. Bring to a simmer, slowly add in 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. Mixing it in.
  4. Once everything is heated through and cheese is melted, stir in spinach and mix until wilted.Then add in the pasta and mix. Spread the rest of the cheese on top. **If it seems too thick you can add in the rest of the water. Enjoy!

** I love using my cast iron skillet for meals like this. It cooks the

sausage so nicely. It gives the sausage a nice browning.
