Homemade Meatballs in Marinara Sauce!

Meatballs are so easy to make and they can be a meal or used as an appetizer. You can also freeze any that you don’t think your going to eat before you put them in any sauce. I love to put them in marinara and then make meatball subs for dinner, they are so good.

Ingredients:

2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1/2 teaspoon basil (you can use fresh or dry)

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper (optional)

1 teaspoon fresh parsely is the best

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1 1/2 pound ground beef

1 1/2 pound ground mild italian sausage

2 eggs

1-2 TB worceshire sauce

about 1/4 cup water

1/4 cup fresh parmesan cheese

1. Mix all ingredient’s together, but don’t over mix the meat.

2. Start to form the meatballs to the size you would like, and you can put them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 25-30 minutes. Or you can pan fry them. I like to use the oven method.

3. Then add them to marinara and simmer about 30-45 minutes. They will be nice and tender.

Marinara:

2 Cans diced tomatoes

1/2 chopped onion

2 garlic cloves minced

1 teaspoon salt

3-4 fresh basil leaves or 1 teaspoon dry

1 teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon sugar

  1. Sauté onion until translucent then add the garlic in and cook about 30 seconds.
  2. Add in all other ingredients and then let simmer about and hour.
  3. I like a smoother sauce so I use my immersion blender to make it smooth. If you don’t have one use a blender or food processor. Or you can keep it thick its up to you.

Hi there! I've always had a passion for food. Ever since I was little. I was never a picky eater, but when I had kids I had to start altering the foods we ate. Being a mother of 3 has put me to the test. I've always enjoyed to cook. As you all know kids change everything. I started cooking all the time, trying different recipes and making them from scratch. My kids love my food and like to help out, thats all I can ask for. So now here I am trying to spread the love and passion with you.
