Juicy Hamburger Patties in Brown Gravy!

These patties are delicious! I grew up on this dinner, its one of my all time favorites. You don’t need many ingredients and you probably have everything on hand.

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1/2 onion diced

3 Tablespoons butter (Divided)

1/4 cup of milk

2 slices of white bread/ French bread

2 eggs (Divided)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

3/4 cup bread crumbs plain

2 bouillon beef cubes

2 cups water

2 Tablespoons of flour mixed with 1 tablespoon of water

  1. Put 1 tablespoon of butter in a small pan and sauté the onion until translucent.
  2. Cut up the bread into small cubes and add the milk to them.
  3. Put ground beef in a medium size bowl. Add in bread cubes mixed with milk, 1 egg, salt and pepper. Then add the sautéed onion.
  4. Mix the beef mixture and form into patties. Almost the size of a hamburger, I like to do mine a little smaller they puff up a little when you cook them in the broth.
  5. Whisk the other egg on a small plate. Put bread crumbs on another small plate.
  6. In a large pan heat up the remaining butter on medium heat. Dip the patties in the egg then into the bread crumbs and cook until golden brown on each side of the patty, about 4-5 minutes each side. Do this to all of them.
  7. When lightly browned add enough water to reach half way on the patties. Add in the beef bouillon and cover with a lid and simmer for about half an hour.
  8. Once the patties are cooked through remove them to another plate and keep warm. In the saucepan with the broth, keep a medium heat going. Slowly mix in the flour/water mixture for the gravy. Whisk until thickened. If you need the gravy thicker add more flour/water mixture. Or thinner add small amounts of water to your liking. Enjoy!

Hi there! I've always had a passion for food. Ever since I was little. I was never a picky eater, but when I had kids I had to start altering the foods we ate. Being a mother of 3 has put me to the test. I've always enjoyed to cook. As you all know kids change everything. I started cooking all the time, trying different recipes and making them from scratch. My kids love my food and like to help out, thats all I can ask for. So now here I am trying to spread the love and passion with you.
