Just another thing to add to my list of things to do in the fall. I love carving pumpkins with the kids then getting the reward of making pumpkin seeds. It’s easy to do. You can switch up the flavors and they are so tasty and crunchy.
Ingredients:
1 cup of seeds
1 Tablespoon olive oil maybe a little more
1 teaspoon salt
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. After cleaning out your pumpkins, try and separate the seeds from the pulp the best you can and add the seeds to a bowl with water. Clean the seeds off and drain them. You might have to do this a few times.
- Dry off the seeds the best you can then add them to a sheet pan. Cover with oil and salt then mix it up. Spreading it out evenly and put into the oven. Flip them every 5 minutes until done about 20- 30 minutes. Let cool then Enjoy!
****Tips
You might need a little extra oil and salt. Test it out while they are cooking. Everyone is a little different on taste.
You get about 1 cup of seeds for every medium to large pumpkin.
Flavors: you can add garlic powder, pepper, garlic salt, chili powder etc. The Flavors are endless. Start with 1/4 teaspoon of seasonings and adjust as you go 🎃.
